Just curious here, but does anyone know if the new Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB drives will work in these?

I don't know... but as soon as I hear that they DO work and someone has a 10TB array working... I am ALL about the upgrade of my (2) 5x1TBs systems.

I have the old Thecus N5200 (not pro) and am right on the edge of buying 6 WD 2TB drives running raid5 (10TB setup).
Only thing holding me back is cost and not knowing if the N5200 (not pro) can handle the new drives....
Know "anyone" running the new 2TB drives on the N5200 yet?

Just bought 4 of the 2TB drives.
Don't think I'm going to receive them until 3/5 though.
Will let you know how well they work in my N5200 (non pro).

read somewhere that the 1.5TB drives wouldn't work with the non-pro 5200 (i have one at home, 2 PROs at the office)
now the harddrive compatability chart (just read it today) says the 1.5s are not recommended....
so they'd likely work, as would the 2s, the problem is with the slower processor and less memory.... the non-pro machine would take much longer to initialize the raid, rebuild in case of a failure, etc.....
but there's no reason the drives shouldn't work with the machine.....
it's like...... you could probably run windows xp on a 486, but would you WANT to?
