Please, anyone...
I just purchased the i5500 for iSCSI access from Quad Core 2.8GHz Intel computer running ESX Server 3.5. Can someone tell me if this configuration should work and what is the performance of the 5200BR Pro iSCSI vs i5500 iSCSI?
My google search shows:
i5500 = 100MBytes/s 5200BR Pro = 32Mbytes/s
Is this correct?

I'm dissappointed with Performance on i5500. I'm still waiting on response from Support. i5500 is very expensive with 2 Gigabit NICs. Using a single dedicated NIC to a single host yields very good throughput, i.e. 80MBytes/s for iSCSI using PassMark disk i/o tester. I'm happy with this. However, when using both NICs, each dedicated to a different host, the throughput drops to only 40MBytes/s per NIC. Each host is talking to a dedicated Volume Group on a dedicated NIC. Individually, each host can achieve the 80MBytes/s. However, when they both run together, the speeds to each is cut in half.
Still waiting on response from support...

I have my response from Support... I'm now seeing much better performance from the i5500 of 150Mbytes/s. Very impressive...
