Hi,
I installed the NFS daemon and I notice some strange behaviour when I transfer files to my N2100.
Example: I copy a file of 700MB, it goes REALLY fast in the beginning (25-30MB/S) up to about 300MB then the transfer stalls for a while and it starts again building up speed and when it arrives at the end of the file it stalls again for a little while before it finishes...
I would like to know if anyone is having the same king of behaviour.
PS: I tried to monitor with top if the N2100 runs out of memory but it seems to be ok. Also, I'm running firmware 2.1.03 (but it was the same with 2.1.01).

Hi fmo, due to buffering in the N2100 this *could* be just normal..... From what computer and with what program are you copying the file? How do you notice that it stalls after some time? And what is the overall throughput for the complete transfer? How fast is your network connection? In order to imagine what is going on on your device you should at least answer these questions. More specific details would even help more though.... Andreas

Ok so my computer is a Core2 Duo 2Ghz with 2GB of RAM, the network connection is 1000Mb and it's running Ubuntu 6.10 (I tried with other Linux and it behaves exactly the same). I'm copying the file though the file manager of Kde (tried Gnome too same behaviour). I notice that it stalls because the file transfer speed goes down until it says "stalled".
I just did another file transfer test, a 469MB file total tranfer time 48s, transfer starts really fast (25MB/s) until it reaches about 300MB and then it stops, the transfer speed indicated by Konqueror goes down until it stalls and then it restarts and stalls again at the end of the transfer. I'd say that the overall throughput is about 9MB/s
My Thecus has 512MB of memory but it was behaving the same with 128MB.
Thanks for your help

I just noticed while doing the transfer that the CPU usage of the Thecus goes through the roof with 1 on the NFSD processes going up to 96% (but 85 in average).
