So I got my "new" thecus 2100.... the serial # is like 00058, so maybe it's older.
First thing I do is try to upgrade the firmware. All goes well, it prompts me to reboot the unit, I do. At that point, I can't access the web interface. I can ping it, access it via the config tool, but nothing on the web interface. I tried a factory reset, but since you have to complete that through the web interface - I can't really do that. I have tried connecting it driectly to a computer, they are both on the same subnet - obviously. When I do a reset and the unit comes up, I can ping it at 192.168.1.100... I don't have any error lights on the front, just a solid blue power LED. It keeps it's config that I assigned it - 192.168.3.104, and I can ping it at that address.
Anything I can do to save it? Jumpers on the board that will reset the flash/config whatever it uses? Unforunteately I bought it on ebay, and the guy I bought it from does not consider it DOA, and there is no warranty support through the mfg. Do I have a $250 paperweight sitting on my desk?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions, and I hope I am posting this in the right forum.

First thing that you should do is tell thecus and suggest that they fix their firmware. Then have a read of this post... thecususergroup.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=installationissues&action=display&thread=1170597504Basically you pull the drive out and put it in your PC. Boot up using system rescue cd and then edit your samba config to add a share to the root folder. You put the drive back into the thecus. Reboot it a couple of times and then use the share to edit replace the apache conf files that are corrupted. How's your linux skills? Don't edit any shell scripts through the root share because it will remove the execute permission. PM me for more specific details if you need it.
