Dear all, I’ve read the topic "The system N2100's fan has failed", but it is not the same problem. My N2100 runs firmware 2.1.03.1 (out of the box) and has the original fan. The fan's setting is NORMAL. It is winter here. Indoor temperature is not high. When I power on my N2100, both motherboard and harddrives is about 21°C / 69 °F. After system boot, the fan run very slowly : according to System screen, the fan speed is 11 RPM. Two minutes later, the N2100 beeps for 30 seconds and the log displays : The system N2100’s fan has failed. It’s not pleasant and is very noisy. This information is not correct because few seconds after, temperature increase to 25°C / 77°F (has drives are used) and fan runs at 3800 to 4200 RPM. Is it normal ? By the way, sometime, the fan has a very strange behaviour : once a day, the speed changes repetitively from high speed to low speed. In best case, for 5 minutes it speed goes up (from 2500 to 4800 RPM) very quickly and goes does slowly (from 4800 to 2500 RPM) then goes up very quickly and goes does slowly and ….etc. In worth case, the fan to that for 30 minutes and I so exhausted that I log on admin account, change fan speed from NORMAL to HIGH and set is back to normal and then fan runs at a regular speed (4200 RPM)… And I’m cool. Is my N2100 is defective ? Thank you Best regards Denony.
