I want to kick right off with 4 x 1TB drives in N4100+ (Raid5). Anyone recommend reliable/compatible ones. My normal preference is Seagate (eg ST310005N1D1AS-RK)
If too dear I may have to go with 750GB drives; same question Many thanks LesP

Looks like there are a few of us contemplating the same thing. I have 3 1TB Seagate drives that I would like to use in either the 4100B+ or 5200BR.
Like you guys, I can't see Seagate 1 TBs on the HDD certified list so I am hesitant to make the investment until I am reasonably certain they will work.
Can you please post here Knight2001dts on how you go.
The only difference is that the Seagate 1 TBs I have are a different model number. Mine are ST31000340AS. I was under the impression the AS models were "enterprise" disks.
Anyway I await your results.
Thank you

oh btw is there any chance Thecus will update their HDD compatibility list in the near future? It's critical for me and other consumers to know when making a purchase decision.

As a change of plans, and budget, I'll be using the WD 1TB drives (HDD-WD10EACS) as they can be had for $256 from MSY (melb, VIC) or $258 from Centrecom ...... very cheap, and as the failure of a drive is not critical (the whole reason for me building a RAID5 setup in the first place) I'm going to use them instead of the Seagates. As the setup is going to be used primarily for an XBOX media centre server, the speed of the drives isnt all that critical, so I can't justify the extra $100 per drive.
Will post results when I am able to put the drives into the presently locked bays!
Still hoping to find a key !!

Im using 3 of these WD hard drives (1TB) mentioned above and they are working fine.
Be warned though if you havent bought a 4100 yet, that its network transfer speeds are nuts. The CPU in the unit isn't powerful enough to get speeds anywhere near the gigabit range. it maxes out between 50-70mbits. Thats a problem all we owners of the device have.
If it wasnt for that it'd be well worth the money.
