Hi,
I am currently putting the Thecus FW back on my box after using it as a Debian server. Unfortunately during the original Debian install I deleted everything in the user partition of the flash memory. Does anyone know whether the user part of the flash is required to run the Thecus firmware?
Cheers.

Yes it is. It's where all of the configuration files are located.
Perhaps a helpful individual with an unmodified configuration could offer to tar up their /app folder and post it for you to download.
Mine's probably not ideal given how much i've modified it. It would probably cause more problems.

Any help would be appreciated. I just reflashed my kernel and ramdisk partitions with success but no boot. Obviously without the startup scripts and conf files it is just hanging. If someone could post a tarball of /app for 2.1.03 (in any form) it would be much appreciated. Even a directory structure and a few select files would get me going. Thanks.

All done, thanks greatly for the tarball.
I was able to reconstruct a working machine from the files you gave me and the default files from the n2100upgrade.2.1.03.bin firmware. Turns out all the essential files such as rc, httpd.conf, ssl.conf, php.ini, etc were all in there.
I'm not sure if exactly everything is now as new/default but it works fine and it even autodetected my debian RAID1 md and mounted it! With a few shares defined I was ready to go.

Great news. You pretty much named all of the files that i've been screwing around with The ultimate test would be to try and re-apply the firmware over the top of it. Just make sure that you've got SSH installed first!!!
