I wish for: SSH access, for real. You can make a normal and an expert firmware release. The expert one will include SSH access, and a disclaimer about screwing up your system Folding@Home daemon. My 1u4500 only uses 8% of the CPU will rebuilding the RAID (4x RAID5) I leave it on 24/7, so I know there are plenty of times when its not being accessed and it could be curing cancer. Make sure we can edit the config file through the browser (to pick our user name and team name). I think thats it... Im happy with everything else... maybe clean up the web interface.

Another vote for SSH access here (with the above system-screwing caveat, naturally).
NAS got stuck again today while trying to build a secondary RAID, and I could've fixed it without yanking the power if I could get a shell on there.
Also, it'd be nice if it didn't take all file serving offline while it built a RAID. The primary array was perfectly intact while the secondary was building, and it contains all our user folders.
Yeah, I think we'll use a custom Linux box for our critical stuff in future.
