On all my linux boxes at home, i'm using phpsysinfo. It has the option of returning data in .xml format. Is it possible for the INFO mod to do the same? I'm running a script that gathers all info at specific times, to store in a mysql database. That way i can get all the information of my lan by visiting 1 page.
I also read that omega is looking for a decent html layout... I always found phpsysinfo looking pretty good... so perhaps this layout is worth 'borrowing' ? :-)
Edit: removed link, since it isn't working atm.

I checked out this software and because it's in PHP it runs on my N5200 right from the start. The only problem is some functions are not working as the N520 is using busybox which is not 100% compatible with an ordinary Linux system.
Doing some smaller modifications and adding the N5200 specific info should get us a prefect INFO module.
Maybe I'll will find some time sometimes or somebody else wants to volunteer....

If i can help with this, i'm happy to :-)
I don't know much about linux itself though... I know enough to use apt-get, and read manuals, lol ;-)
However, i could help on the html/php part. I've coded a few sites in the past. I'm willing to comit to this, but i have to warn you that it might take a while. My professional life can be demanding at times.
On a sidenote... I have no idea where to start :-)

FYI The layout on NASLite is not bad for drive information, and it also uses busybox.

Hi glo8al, thanks for that hint... it looks nice at all.... but I doubt we can reuse it because it is not free software..... Andreas

Hey Omega,
Do you have any tips or advice on where to start?
If I knew for instance in which variables you stored the information, I could start to make a page that shows this information.
Could you tell me which (kind of) editor & compiler should be used? I have both a windows & linux (ubuntu) machine here.
Also, I would love to see more SMART-data available. eg, Raw Read Error Rate, Write Error Rate and Temperature would come in very handy to detect drive failure ahead of time.
