Hi @ all N5200 users. I was extreme surprised that you can "upgrade" the functionality of the N5200 systems by just adding modules. Is there an small "HowTo"-like Guide for N5200 beginners how to access the N5200 remotley for software modifications described in this board? But by the way... 1) How can I add modules? 2) Which prerequisites have to be accomplished on N5200 side (Hardware/Software-modifications...)? 3) How do I install a compiled module (location)? 4) Are the installed modules dynamic configurable? The site ... onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N5200_Module_List... from omega is a good starting point but I don't find an detailed explanation for the process of module installation. I would be happy for some help. kindly regards escimo

First download the module You want to install and unzip the package. Then on the N5200: System->Module Management Install it (use the .mod file from the unzipped package, cause thats the module itself) , enable it and thats all. No Prerequisites, some modules need other modules Some modules are configurable some not. br Peter
PS: module management is only available if You have a working raid

Ohhh - That sounds simple. I get angry about returning my old N5200 Roustore, because I didn't know that you can get more functionality for your N5200 system so easily. Next week my new N5200B PRO will arrive. This time I try some of the unofficial modules. ;-) Would the use of these modules causing problems concerning warranty and technical support? How could I uninstall such modules, if I must bring in N5200 because of hard failure? regards escimo

As far as I know it will not harming warranty - modules are supported from Thecus and if You download the GPL sources for the FW there is a userguide included and some examples. For uninstalling simply do a uninstall from the web interface The module support is a big advantage of this box br Peter
