Could some explain how the OS & Filesystem are laid out on the N5200? Maybe talk about CloopFS, and what data is stored in flash, on the hard drives, and how the OS loads it...
I was trying to locate where the log displayed on the web interface was stored.

Could anyone talk about how the file structure is laid out on the N5200? I'm trying to understand where "Target USB" or the Mass Storage partition or information is accessible. I would also like to know where the compact flash firmware is, and what info is actually stored on the Thecus vs. the Hard Drives themselves. My apologies, but I'm not the most proficient linux/busybox user so the layout is confusing. I have found articles such as this to be useful: tldp.org/LDP/intro-linux/html/sect_03_01.htmlBut they don't address the Thecus much at all... especially directories like /raid or /app

As far as I can work out, the data/snapshot/etc is all store in /raid on the NAS.
Snapshot data is stored in /raid/snapshot Error Logs are stored in the /raid/sys/error file Warning logs are stored in the /raid/sys/warning file Other data is stored in the /raid/data driectory. Within that directory there are the shares you set up, DLNAmedia directory, module directors (which contains installed module files), nsync directory, target_usb directory, usbcopy directory, and usbhdd directory.
I have learned that you can link shares using the linux 'link' command (eg if you want your /raid/data/tvseries directory to be accessible when you look in your /raid/data/videos network share).
Can't help much more than this mate, but hope it helps you.
Cheers

Thanks a ton for the reply... Do you happen to know why I don't see any files int he target_usb directory even when I format, or move files into it from a host computer that's connected via USB??
