Just upgraded to 2.00.02, everything went fine but I just noticed notification isn't working with qwest.net
I was using off and just sending through pop.phnx.qwest.net and I remember it working before upgrade though I haven't gotten a notification in a long time but then my system has been working so not much has been coming through.
Not sure what broke...
Any ideas what to check?

Mine works on a N5200B. I don't have both ports active ATM (802.3ad based load balancing and failover) as when I did email notification stopped working (FW 1.00.10). Haven't tried failover with version 2.00.01 yet. But as it is right now, I'm getting email notifications.

Mine is definitely not working with 2.00.01, it doesn't even seem to be trying to get out to my SMTP server on Qwest...
Not sure if some deamon isn't starting or what to check, it just says "send message" very quickly whether I put a correct server, IP address or no in the server field.

Basically e-mail notification is working, in all recent firmwares. If there are problems with e-mail notification, these problems come from inadequate settings of the parameters for the e-mail notification. In other words: it depends on how you configured the notification. The configuration depends on what SMTP server you're using and therefore it is virtually impossible to simply tell you how to set it up. There have been a lot of posts regarding this issue in the past - search for them using the search function in this forum. You might want to post the settings you're using.... Andreas

My setting hadn't changed, just the IP for my SMTP server on QWEST, I also tried the server name:
Server Name: pop.phnx.qwest.net Port: 25 IP: 63.231.195.31
Authentication has been set to off and working in the past though I tried every other setting too.
Thanks.

Never mind everyone, it just started working for no rhyme or reason.
Gods just must like me today.

Nevermind, now it has stopped working again... I changed nothing and neither of my email addresses are receiving notifications. I am not sure what the issue is now.

Only some ideas: 1) Configure the SMTP server with it's IP-address and not by name in order to prevent DNS lookup failures. 2) Is it possible your SMTP server has problems and this problem is not N5200 related?

Why is it so hard for Thecus to programm a proper email notfication. After lots of irritation I got it finally working. This weekend I did a firmware upgrade and haven't changed any settings at all, guess what .... IT AIN'T WORKING ANYMORE

Well I have noticed something strange about the Notifications. I have it setup to go to two different email address. I will always get the emails on one of the address while the other for some reason either doesn't come or is up to a hour late. I don't think this has anything to do with the N5200, but I wonder if some filtering is happening somewhere?
Do you have a gmail account that you could try?
