How have other people been getting on with the new FileSystem Check in the new firmware?
I've tried to run it twice now, and both times I get the following text emailed to me:
The system itself appears to be running fine so I'm not sure whether I should be worried or not?

Just tried the same.... and got the same e-mail.... Didn't you see the message [2007/2/14 1:1:33] /dev/vg0/lv0 is mounted.on the web page....? This is the real reason for the fsck error so the fsck was not running at all afaik yet. I'll have a look tomorrow for it.... Good night Andreas

Yes, I get that exact message on the web-page!
Glad to hear it's not necessarily my RAID array about to crash and burn!

I'm not amused.... Thecus: everytime I try to do a filesystem check the above error is happening which tells me that /dev/vg0/lv0 is mounted and that therefore the fsck failed. I tried to investigate what's going wrong but I'm short in time, it's difficult even to trace it because at that time I don't have any access to the N5200 and basically it's your job Due to the fact that the filesystem check is done after reboot and before any modules are started I'm sure that none of my modules is the culprit. Please tell me (us) what we're doing wrong.... Thanks Andreas

When I clicked the File System Check button, the system asked me whether I want "Filesystem Check Support. Apply?" When I clicked "Apply", it will reboot and then perform a full FSCK. I did it a couple of times with no problems.

Hi polson, was so happy to read your suggestion and I've tried that now because I've had an USB disk connected to my N5200. But even now that there are no external devices connected it is still not working and still I get the above error message. I'll try it again tomorrow in order to be sure that's not only because I'm so tired now..... Thanks and good night..... Andreas

Just for reference, it fails for me and I don't have any USB devices attached (nor have I ever done).
I also have no space allocated for snapshot or USB devices.

Here is a quick update: 1) I've changed the bootup script so that I have SSH access even when doing the fsck thing. But at the first try the fsck was working and I don't know why..... Need to do some more checks.... 2) The e2fsck filesystem check script from standard linux e2fsprogs package requires the executable badblocks. This exe is missing and on bootup error messages telling this are shown (OK, only for freaks watching the serial console). Thecus: maybe you want to correct this!? Andreas
