I just got my 5200 and put in 5x750 seagate drives in. I set them in raid 5 with a 1024 stripe size (large video files mostly). I know it will take some time to build, but it has been at 0.0% for 2 hours. There is plenty of disk activity and the cpu load is 100%
The info page shows: Remaining Time 109899.2min
Any ideas?

I have the same and I had to leave it running overnight. I can't remember how long it took exactly, but it was a long time! Good luck.

It's working fine now. I thought I might have had a bad disk or something so I did a quick JBOD setup and copied some files around, then set it back up for raid 5 overnight. It was doing about 8-9% complete/hour until I started moving files on it.
Pretty sad to see 3.75Tb of drives turn into 2.5TB of space. I should have waited to get the terabyte drives later this summer.

Yes, it is sad. I set mine up as RAID-6 and watched it shrink even more! Good to see you're up and running.

For reference, I started my array creation last night at 8:30pm and it finished format and array creation at 10:05 the next morning.
