I connected my epson stylus colour 980 to the usb port of the thecus. on the admin page the printer was identified correctly with Manufacturer being displayed as EPSON.
However, I cant get XP to print to it.
First i tried add printer by network after installing the epson driver and entered: http://<thecus>:631/printers and /printers/EPSON as well as other combinations - kept getting errors.
Second I tried using the "ports" configuration through the epson driver. I added a new TCP/IP port and put the IP address of thecus in. I tried RAW with 9100 and 631 no luck. I tried lpr with print queue name: printers and EPSON, Epson etc... as well as printers/Epson - still no luck.
The XP machine should connect to the thecus - what am I doing wrong?

Printer server N2100 supports IPP printers since firmware v2.0.00. You could follow below steps to install an IPP printer
1) Connect the USB printer to one of the USB ports (Preferably the rear USB ports; front USB ports can be used for external HDD enclosures 2) Go to “Printers and Faxes” on your Start Menu 3) Click on “Add Printer” under File menu 4) Add printer Wizard appears on your screen. Click on “Next” button 5) Select “A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer” option 6) Select “Connect to a printer on the Internet or on a home or office network”, and enter “http://N2100_IP_ADDRESS:631/printers/usb-printer” into the URL fiel 7) Your Windows system will ask you to install drivers for your printer. Select correct driver for you 8) Your Windows system will ask you if you want to set this printer as “Default Printer”. Select Yes, then all your print jobs will be submitted to this printer. Click on “Next” button. 9.) Click on "Finish Button"

Thanks gunny I think this might have worked. I followed your steps, and got further than before. The bit I was missing was the usb-printer portion. How did you find out that was the name of the printer queue?
As its a bit late here in the UK, I'll test this tommorow.

The Epson Stylus Photo R220 works ok, except for status monitor stuff like ink levels (which is not unexpected)

I try a Lexmark X7170.
It doesn't work with the latest Box FW 2.1.00 and Lexmark Drivers.
You can map the Printer trough HTTP from a W2k and WinXP and the Box see also the Printer as online, but you can not printing.
But it is not a Key Feature for me, i printing with Sharing from the Clients trough the Server, it is running also everytime ;-)
