Hi All,
New 5200 user here running 5 x Samsung SpinPoint P120 SP2504C 250GB drives in RAID5.
So far so good and all drives spin down (I saw a comment on the wiki saying samsung drives may not) with out issue.
Very impressed!
Later,
Grayarea.

Hello,
i have installed 2x WD5000KS and 1x WD5000YS. If i set a jumper on 3-4 to activate the power management (and also activate it in the N5200) only one of the WD5200KS will spin up automatically, even if i insert only one drive of each then the one how spins up is the same, the others donĀ“t.
Does anybody know a reason this? Every drive is new and ok. I have installed the latest firmware (1.00.08) on N5200.
Best regards, Randalo

New user here too... Still waiting on my 500GB drivers, so i've tested with some others i still have.
Tested on firmware .8
Seagate Barracuda 160GB ST3160827AS works. Maxtor Diamondmax 10 300GB 6B300S0 works too.
The seagate has firmware 3.03 The maxtor has BANC, whatever that may be.
I'm a bit scared by the post above... the disks i ordered were the WD5000KS'... I'll keep you posted wether i run into the same problems.
Edit: 5 WD5000KS-00MNB0 (firmware 07.0) working like a charm :-)

I have installed 4 of some fairly new Western Digital Drives:
WD5000AAKS (different from WD5000KS) -- 500 GB
So far, no problems.

I am using 5 Samsung Spinpoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB drives in Raid 5 (4 + 1 spare). The N5200 has v1.00.08 firmware. Had a problem with my first N5200, would not boot with more than 3 drives installed. Most likely had a bad power supply, sent it back. No problems with the replacement unit so far.

I'm using 3x Maxtor 500GB STM3500630AS with no problems. I believe these are basically the same as the ST3500630AS Segates (7200.10)
