I just finished successfully installing my new N5200 PRO with 5x1TB disks (4xRAID5 + 1xJBOD for additional backup of critical data off the RAID5). Other than the very loud PSU fan noise, I am satisfied with the result.
Power consumption is ~95W when in use, going down to ~75W with disks spun down (quite high, and I'm not sure the disks actually spun down all the way, although this was measured after an entire night with the Ethernet cable disconnected!)
Performance is very good, I'm getting 27MB/Sec reading a ~350MB file, and 17MB/Sec writing mostly small files. No Jumbo Frames enabled, just GigE over Cat 5 (not even 5e, I still need to upgrade).
Connected a new TViX HD M-4100SH media streamer, everything working great. Only problem I had was getting them to speak NFS. Problem solved by adding an NFS Share, giving the TViX (via it's static IP address) RO access as an Anonymous User. The Server Name entered in the TViX is the NFS mount point, which in my case was /raid0/data/Media.
After shutting down and restarting the N5200, I experienced a still unresolved problem with the LCD Display - it is working, but there is no backlight. I need to go right up to the device to see it rotating between the various display information. Is it possible the backlight burnt out? Or is there some magic setting that sets the backlight on/off (I know this was on some people's wishlist).

The backlight on my new N5500 is also not working. It's less than two weeks old.
Faulty LCD or sub-board?
Is this a common fault with Thecus units?
Cheers, Mike.
