I am thinking of buying the new n5200br Pro.
Shall I use 5 of Seagate 7200.10 750G drives or Western digital 750G drives?
Or maybe other brands.
Cheers

NO WD RE2 *UNSTABLE 2006/12/23 Just a note that this is no longer accurate. If you apply the firmware fix to the WD RE2 drives (I assume the newer drives all come with the updated firmware), and you are running Thecus firmware 1.00.08 or newer, they're rock-solid. My 5200R has 5 x 500gb WD RE2 drives with (currently) 75 days of uptime and no errors whatsoever.

Was reading the Hexus review and it mentioned about seagate 7200.10 750G doesn't always spin up.
That worries me a bit since I was planned to purchase 7200.10 750G.
(I shall post my question in "Compatible Hard Disk Drives" heading, sorry)

Just to add to this thread, I just had two of my WD 500GB RE2 drives blow-up within 2 weeks of eachother (all of the drives were originally purchased at the same time). Got about 10 months out of them, running 24/7.
Thankfully because they didn't die at exactly the same time, I threw a spare in and the raid rebuilt, then RMA'ed it, and used the replacement RMA for when the 2nd drive blew out.
Inspite of this, I still like these drives, they're fast, not especially hot, and with a 5-year warranty and advanced RMA, they're nice for a server setup.
The drives that WD shipped me were "recertified", but no problems so far, and I'm keeping a spare on the shelf for if another one goes.

Cheers I've been using 5x750GB WD drives (RAID5) in my N5200Pro for the past few months with no problem They are supposed to be cooler and quieter than the Seagate 7200.10 750GB drives.

Anybody have info on the compatibility of the Seagate 7200.11 series? The chart from Thecus only goes up to the .10s, I guess the .11s are still pretty new?
