Hi there, Thecus released the Beta 2.1.03.1 on Dec. 21st ( www.thecus.com/Downloads/beta/). Has anybody already installed it and knows what changes it contains? Cheers and Merry Christmas to all, murx007

Hi there,
just wanted to let you know that I'm running with the beta since two weeks and couldn't find any new features nor experienced any problems. Only had a few performance glitches when copying larger amounts of files from Mac OS X via SMB to the N2100. I'm not sure if this is caused by the firmware or my MacBook.
Cheers and Happy New Year to all, murx007

I don't recall what firmware mine came with, but I had to upgrade it almost straight out of the box, in order to get half of the advertised features to show up (ie, photo server, afp access). So, I guess afp access is the big one that showed up for me. Also, in the original firmware, there was no option for module management.
I have had already, a problem with the RAID quality going down to "degraded"... this is after almost NO use. What the heck? I put brand new Western Digital drives in this thing, (not the ones that are known to have conflicts) so I won't believe at this point, that it is the drives.
What exactly does that entail, when it says "degraded"? Does that mean that the integrity of the data already on the disk has been compromised? or does it mean that any further data may not right correctly?
What exactly can cause a degraded state? I had copied maybe 30 gb to this thing, and then not messed with it much... It doesn't seem possible that it could be degraded so soon. And if it is, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of having a RAID 1 setup, if it is that easy to corrupt?

What exactly does that entail, when it says "degraded"? Does that mean that the integrity of the data already on the disk has been compromised? or does it mean that any further data may not right correctly? That means that one of the two disks is no more mirroring. Normaly it happens when the disk is 'broken'.... but you probably experienced the same issue as me ; (you can continue to work with the 'healthy' one.)
