Hello all,
I have no Linux expereince but would love to learn as much as I can, and own a N4100 and a N4100+ NAS boxes. I currently don't use the N4100 because there is no iTunes or mediaserver for it as I believe it is unmodable. Considering my friends very much cheaper NAS box is, I am feeling somewhat hard doneby!!
I am trying to learn about the modules and have installed some of the modded N2100 modules e.g. the iTunes and Media sever ones but none seem to work so far. They do install but nothing seems to happen to access the services.
My objectives are too:
Have and Itunes server (the one as standard is buggy and does not always get found on iTunes)
Have a media server to work with my PS3 (The standard one is buggy in that if you add a folder you cannot deselect it)
Have Telnet ability (My friend used this to mod his box, not sure if I need this or can SSH be used or is it that the modules is the only way to mod this box)
Have wake on LAN via the internet
Or even be a help in testing modules that are being developed.
It looks like this is not a very active forum, but I would like to help out considering I have spent £700 on NAS boxes which are only proving to be good as storage only so far.
