Managed to install the module from www.freeside.ch/thecus/?path=n4100plus/Enabled it Added the Service folder /Video to it, linking it to nobody. & having the x.x.x.x /24 network then in OS X, Command-K, - nfs://x.x.x.x/raid/Video Will not be mapped Is there a problem with the module, - or can someone advise on why its not mapping....

to find out if your Thecus does export any nfs shares execute the following command in either a Linux shell or the Mac OS X terminal
showmount -e NAME_OR_IP_OF_NFS_SERVER In case the list turns up empty, log into your Thecus via ssh and check if nfsd is running
ps ax | grep nfs
good luck getmythe

Running this command in the OS X terminal,
showmount -e NAME_OR_IP_OF_NFS_SERVER gave this output, Exports list on [name]: /raid/Photos x.x.x.x/32 /raid/Video x.x.x.x/24
Thecus via ssh.
ps ax | grep nfs gave, [name]:/# ps ax | grep nfs 29342 root 504 R grep nfs
So, I'd assume things look right. Though, there's no mounted drive icon on the desktop for it. And, how come when I was doing the nfs://name/raid/Video etc, simply gave me the spinning wheel (processing), but didn't output the mounted drives on the desktops. The shared files are available for both public / user access.
Thanks heaps getmythe,
** update, Tried to do the mounting via terminal, mount -t nfs [name]://raid/Video /nas/Video
(had created empty directories on my mac root, /nas/Video - to be mounting points) got this error message then, NFS Portmap: RPC: Program not registered
So, I checked the NAS with $ rpcinfo -p [name]
and got this output
program vers proto port 100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper 100000 2 udp 111 portmapper 100005 1 udp 2048 mountd 100005 1 tcp 3234 mountd 100005 2 udp 2048 mountd 100005 2 tcp 3234 mountd 100005 3 udp 2048 mountd 100005 3 tcp 3234 mountd
I'm missing the nfs? any ideas....

hello,
I got the same problems with NFS. I am in contact with the german support. The german hompage shows still NFSv3 as supported protokol.
the german employe quotes colleague from taiwan: ...N4100+ w/ NFS support will be available in the next F/W version which will be released at end of October. Because it is too large to put into flash memory, it will be released as a Thecus module resident on RAID.
so there is still hope for official help..

showmount can find your shares, which is good ps ax clearly fails to find your nfsd processes, which is bad and rpcinfo fails to see nfs ports, very bad
Looks like the n4100+ kernel lacks nfs support. That's why I removed the module from my site.
