I'm looking for volunteers to help with module testing. If you have some Linux knowledge, own a N4100+ and are interested in extending the functionality of your Thecus Box; I'm looking for volunteers to help making N2100 modules compatible with the N4100+. Sofar all I did was patch the installer such that my modules will install. Now I need people to check how much is working and what needs to be modified. Please be aware that I do not own an N4100+ and therefore cannot help debugging problems. Anyhow, here's what I have for testing. Just unzip and install the file with extension .mod. Best to start with the SSH module www.freeside.ch/thecus/?path=n4100plus/have fun getmythe

Well, so far, so good! The SSH module installed okay this evening and seems to work fine! I haven't had a chance to fully configure new keys, etc. yet but basic shell and file transfer works a treat. Many thanks. -- adam

I'm not the owner of the FTPAccess module. I only host the module on my server, that's all. Nevertheless, I quickly patched it such that you may try if it is working. If successful, please ask user marty if he can patch the official module for you.

Hi,
yesterday I patched the MLDonkey-module. And it works perfect on my N4100PLUS!
Contact me, if you need it!

Does anyone know of a better alternative to the existing download manager?
I'm interested in the ftp downloading part. Does anyone know of a way to install an alternative ftp client possibly through ssh and running it from there?
Thanks, Andreas

Hi I have updated firmware on my Thecus N4100 with beta firwmare and its giving med module installation option. I have tried to install the modules you have patched from N2100 but its giving an error message. Install module failed since Nas type or version not match.1
Can somebody please patch SSH module for N4100 for firmware 1.3.05.
Thanks a lot

No surprise here!
As long as I do not know what the nas type is for an updated n4100 I cannot patch my modules.
Do you happen to have any official Thecus module that does install? If yes, then we have an easy way of finding the identification string I need for patching modules.

Found it! The version required tag was set to 2.1.00 which is fine for the Thecus n2100 but to high a barrier for the n4100+. Please re-download and try again.

The latest version of MLDonkey is now available for both N2100 and N4100+ ;D What is the DONKEY module? There's no description for it on the freeside site.

The DONKEY module contains an mldonkey multi-network p2p client (2.9.2).
In general the n4100+ modules are just patched versions of the n2100 modules. Have a look for the n2100 version with the same name (starts with N2100-). These archives contain both the module and some html based documentation.
NEWS: just patched my archives such that you now have both documentation and module available for the n4100+ as well.
BEWARE: WinZip is crap! It cannot handle Linux archives. When unpacking most archives you should have a directory containing the module and some documentation to go with it. In case you only get one file you better look for another unpacker.

There are two more modules available for testing: HFSPLUS and WEBAccess Please report back if they are not working as expected (as always, no warranty).
