ACL?

I have had a periodic problem with my 4100 since upgrading to the earlier 1.3 release. The problem occurs when I sve a file to the server. I cannot see the file under Windows Explorer. I find that I have to go into the 4100 and reset the ACL. This then immediately allows me to see and manipulate the files. This is becoming a pain. I have corresponded with Thecus support, and they have advised me to upgrade to the latest firmware. Unfortunately this has not fixed the problem. I do not know what ACL is. Can someone explain, also how this fixes the problem. Thanks, Rod

Did the file owner change the permission of the file thru Windows Explorer?

Forgot to mention that Thecus support emailed me, and suggested that as the RAID configuration was built on an older firmware release, I should backup and then rebuild the RAID on the current firmware. Does this sound OK? I don't want to go to the trouble of building another machine with enough disk capacity (500G) to take the backup if it is not going to fix the problem.

Change all the share folder to public and reapply your ACL. Don't know if it works, but better than find storage for 500 GB worth of files.

I wonder if you trash the file system. Did your N4100 experience any power failure or sudden power loss?

Didn't have any power failures. The thecus is on a 3KVA online UPS. Also the problem was only with one folder. The other two were OK.
