I have managed to get Squid (Squid/2.4.STABLE6) running on my N2100. I am running FW 2.1.06. The squid setup is kludged, and not optimal. I have upgraded the memory to 512MB. The performance is very good.
I do not have the knowledge or the time to convert it into a module. I also have a problem in getting it to auto start when the n2100 is rebooted. This is minor issue.
I will try to create a zip file to unpack to the n2100.

Done ;D It's still a little rough, but it should work. For the next 48 hours you may grab it from www.freeside.ch/SQUID.modcheers getmythe

I have tried to download the file, but it does not work. I also tried changing the name to lower case.

Download via Firefox on Windows is working fine. Extracting the module contents is no problem either. Don't forget that .mod is actually a .tar.gz file.

looking good, only the link to the squid home page is not working I was a little baffled when I found out that the 2.4 stable 6 release is from 2002. Why this ancient release? Don't newer ones work? Well, criticism is easy, therefore ... Why don't you try to integrate Squid 2.6 stable 18 (Jan 2008) in the Module. I compiled it myself. It's running but needs a new config. www.freeside.ch/squid2.6stable18.tgzgetmythe

I do not have the facility to compile.
I will take a look at your binaries and include them and they new config. I will sort out the link as well.
Any other requests?
Thanks for your help.

Your latest version contained a mixture of 2.4 and 2.6 binaries. That's probably why it could not get it to work. I drastically cleaned up the System directory and ported your setup to the 2.6 config template. The module is now only have the size of the first version. Please check if I the new config is complete. I also disabled logging since the files are getting big really fast. I case you need the logs we have to introduce log rotation every 24 hours plus some form of log expire dates. And maybe a warning on the options page that a Thecus with a minimum of 256MByte RAM is required would be a good idea as well. Version 1.1.00 is available for download www.freeside.ch/SQUID.mod

Strange, it worked here.
Thank you for your help. I will update the options page. However I have it running in a live network (My Fathers), and he only has 128MB. I
FYI, I have three N2100, all with 512MB and two with external serial ports added. If you need to test anything, let me know.
I have already done a serial reboot restore :-)
Please feel free to add it to your modules list.
Q. Is there a command to restart a service? I would like to add the button to the banlist page.
