I put in today an Apacer 512MB PC3200 400Mhz RAM...
So far, the N2100 run's stable. About performance to early to say. But what I recognized, is that the Web Login is much faster as it was before.
Free command gives following results immed after booting:
total used free shared buffers Mem: 516624 104936 411688 0 39248 Swap: 1003896 0 1003896 Total: 1520520 104936 1415584

Hi i want to upgrade the n2100 ram but acording to www.onbeat.dk/thecus/index.php/N2100_Hardwarei can upgrade with: RAM 512MB DDR400 Dane Elec module 512MB DDR400 Corsair VS512MB400 512MB DDR400 Crucial Ballistix BL6464Z402 i have read tha some thecus got 256 mb 128MB DDR400 KingMax RAM or 256MB DDR400 KingMax RAM IC 32MBx8 FNAS MPXB62D-38KT3R so another module of ram can run perfectly, and be stable? the listed module are rare on ebay lol!

Just a suggestion:
As it is sometimes hard to identify the modules "proved" compatible, can you please add as much information as you know.
For example, if we have the timings on the list, we could figure out some minimum required, probably be able to tell just from the specs of a particular module. This would help a lot to identifiy possible alternatives, as the known-good are usually hard to find.
Helpful are: - Timing (like "CL 2,5-3-3-8") - Manufactor Number (like "VS512MB400") - Imprint on individual RAM-Chips. (Helps for googling the data sheets)
PS: To find out the real tech. limits, NOT WORKING modules might also be interesting.

Tried 2 different modules, both worked just fine:
Patriot PDC1G3200LLK (from a 1GB DDR kit, 512MB, DDR400, CL2) Ran for about a month, then I needed it back for a PC that I was building. I then purchased: Patriot PSD5124001 (512MB, DDR400, CL3) Been running for about a month now with no issues.

running a few tests i find that with the Xtreme Low Latency ram the thecus PHP Blog loads in 2.8 Seconds but with ECC Ram it loads in 3.6 Seconds and althou i dont have exact numbers for you File Read/Write also seems to me to be affect ? interesting to see that it seems to bee detecting the ram speeds and using it to its fullest id love to keep the ECC ram in it but if the Non ECC is faster i cant see why to keep it in the system. for those wondering i m running it throu a Linksys WRT54GS with firmware DD-WRT v24 SP1 (10/100 LAN) , pc has a BT Voyager PCI 54g Wireless card ... have HTPC on 10/100 LAN ...... wants a 1gb router but price of them me crys

I have just tried with a 1GB Stick of Corsair 3200XL (2-2-2-5) and whilst the Thecus appeared to boot up, I could not access the admin screen, and neither FTP or SSH were working.
I left it to settle down for about 10 minutes, but when I came back, it still hadnt loaded. Removed the Ram stick, and it was almost too hot to touch! (admin CP read 65 degrees celcius after switching back to 512mb!).
Having said that, a 512mb stick of CL3 Twinmos is working perfectly...
