I baught the N2100 for regulary backing up the total Windows notebook. This workd fine for years with older Windows versions.
Since Windows 7 (Ultimate, 64 bit) the Thecus Backup Utility did not work anymore, so I downloaded the actual version dated 2011-04-12, also the actual "Thecus_Backup_Utility_(Windows)_v1.01.00.4_Setup.exe" utility.
But when using the new Thecus Backup Utility I get: "attempt to write a readonly database": Wich one? Where does it reside? In the N2100? What is the name? What to do?
In the "Thecus_Backup_Utility-Quick_Guide.pdf", dated 2011-04-12, I read: "The following dialog box just reminds you if the NAS share folders are ready for use. In case not, you will need to inform the NAS administrators setup the share folders and access rules for you first."
Sorry, the NAS administrator is me, so how to learn how to "setup the share folders and access rules"? What does it mean? Has it to be set up in the N2100? How?
Thanks in advance, Thomas
