Hello, I've been using a 5200Pro at home for about 4yrs. Actual firmware: 2.01.09 RAID Configuration (in physical disk order): 1GB WD10EACS - JBOD (torrent, software to install, no impo) 1GB WD10EACS - JBOD (media center usage) // RAID Master 2GB x 3 WD20EARS - RAID5 (work)
Yesterday, for a power outage (my APC UPS didn't work, d**n'it! probably I had too many devices/watt on), my NAS shutted down abruptly and - when back on - it reset the RAID master to the first JBOD disk (error), so it appeared to have lost all of the several installed modules. No other problems with my files. After setting again the Raid master to disk 2, the modules came back with no problems. Except the APC module that does not anymore see my APC RS800 ups (I've to better investigate what has happened with the power outage, maybe the ups usb interface has suffered a damage).
Now I'm figuring out if it could be ok to "upgrade" my firmware to 2.01.10.17 or 3.00.04.5 (from peterfu website).
My NAS usage is quite basic: - no iSCSI, no ADS/NT, no MAC in lan, no nSync. - Installed modules: SYSUSER, SSHD, UTILS, INFO, DynDNS, TwonkyMedia, RTorrent, APCUPSD.
Would you advise trying the 3.00? (quite curious, but... wouldn't like to risk losing my RAID5 data...) What are the 3.00 known problems?
Many thanks in advance, Gianluca
