Hi all -
I'm thinking about buying a N4200, which uses the same firmware image as the N5500. Before buying, I'd like to dig into the firmware a little to see how hard it is to modify and fix some of the bad stuff I've seen in the N5500 Live Demo. To that end, does anyone have the decryption key for the N5500 firmware?
Thanks, Reid

I have purchased 2 days ago a N5500 ... after finish power-on it show firmware release was 3.00.01 few minutes to setting LAN and explore web interface and I decide to update firmware at last release (3.00.04) with more interesting functions.
Here start problems... and below the sequence of operations made:
1) update firmware from web interface --- > - on led panel see message: start upgrade - after few moment led cycle usual info messages - after 30 sec (+o-) web interface see message: Upgrade failed... on Led see MSG: Fail code C5
2) restart upgrade: same result
3) restart Unit -> unit hang after message: NAS ready
4) force power off unit

1) Added "AutoModule" support. 2) Added TFTP server function. 3) Added Portugal language support in admin web interface.
[Bug Fixes]
1) Fixed the issue that WD My Book and My Passport caused USB driver panic thus RAID/Disk status incorrect. 2) Fixed the issue that Mac computer cannot login into NAS ACL folders by AD user account. 3) Fixed "fdisk fail" issue while doing firmware upgrade.

I downloaded and updated the new firmware. It did not take long to update, and once it was done the unit had to reboot which only takes about 2 minutes. The system sounds off with a loud beep when it is fully up and running.
