Has anyone attempted to backup their Thecus NAS (N5200, N4100, etc.) to a different NAS (either from a different vendor, or even to FreeNAS)? If so, how did you do this? Did you install a particular module to copy/FTP/backup/etc.? I know it is possible to copy between NASes via an OS (such as Windows), but it takes a very long time (Thecus NAS to Windows to different NAS).
What I would like to do is control what is copied/backed up to a secondary NAS from the N5200Pro (primary), and initiate the copy/backup point to point (without going via the OS). I should point out that the secondary NAS's disk configuration is different and of varying size, hence the manual control of what to copy/backup is a must.
I'm not familiar with UNIX at all, so any help from you guys will be much appreciated.

I'm thinking you'd have really piss poor performance with ZFS on a 5200/pro. Even putting 1GB of RAM in the thing, you really don' t have the memory for decent ZFS performance.
