Model 4100+ Firmware 2.00.05
4 brand new 1TB Grren Power WD-EARS models: Raid0 or Raid5: Jumbo Frames Off 3-4mb/sec write - 14mb/sec read
With Jumbo Frames set to 9K: 9.8mb/sec writes - 38mb/sec reads
With Jumbo Frames set to 4k: 7.7mb/sec writes - 10mb/sec reads
Switch supports upto 9600 jumbo frames, and computers support upto 9k jumbo frames.
Home network speed between 2 PCs often reaches 69mb/sec. All cables are Cat6 and also bought a new cable marked Cat6e
The HDDs were tried configured as the default advanced format then back to compatable format with pins 7-8 jumpered.
Tried 3 seperate computers directly connected and via gigabit switch in all possible combinations using the WAN and LAN ports on the 4100+.
2.5 days to build raid5 with four 1TB drives, so it's been a horrible battle.
Discusting performance. I don't know what else to try now to get the speeds where it should be. The person I got it off orginaly had four 750gb seagate drives in it and the speeds were the same. Guess thats why he ditched the unit.
