I am running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit
i have put a folder in the disk management section and then renamed as i misspelled the folder.
now from windows it says unable to access folder
error code 0x80070035 the network path was not found
under xp it asks for a username and password. (but folders was setup as public folders)
Any help would be great

Hi, you could try the ROOTCMD or DROPBEAR modules to see what is happening. Try similar steps to this thread: forum.thecusforum.eu/showthread.php?t=3249Note, to rename a file or folder in linux use "mv" move, example cd /raid/data/NAS_Public/ mv bodgy_directory_name great_directory_name

This is a real software issue with this thing. The shares don't react when you change their parameters. You cant delete them. You need to reboot at every little change and change another thing. Even the reset doesn't really work. If you want to start fresh, like I did, take the drive(s) out and clear them on a computer or using a USB adapter. Then reinstall and they will be reloaded with the actual beginning image. The public selectors for the shares seem to be crossed so if any share is selected as not public then they all are. If any users are entered then a password will be needed on the shares. You can start fresh and use the public folder with no password, that works. Probably the worst piece of professionally written firmware I have ever seen, and that is the new one. Maybe they will ad a few mouse overs so you can figure out what the icons mean lol Not to worry, soon I will just take the drive out and run it over with a truck.

A bit of sticky tape should help to hide the truck tread marks.
Once that is done, you can view the same info that the admin page uses using command line queries:# smb global settings sqlite /raid/sys/smb.db "select k,v from smb_global"
# smb config sqlite /raid/sys/smb.db "select k,v from conf"
# smb share settings sqlite /raid/sys/smb.db "select k,v from smb_share"
# 'share','comment','browseable','guest only','path','map hidden','recursive' sqlite /raid/sys/smb.db "select * from smb_specfd"
# 'share','comment','browseable','guest only','path','map hidden','recursive' sqlite /raid/sys/smb.db "select * from smb_userfd" You can also change things directly this way - I recommend backing up the smb.db file first!# set browseable to yes sqlite /raid/sys/smb.db "update smb_specfd set browseable = 'yes' where share = 'NAS_Public'"
