Trying to get started creating modules for the N5500...
Is it able to use n5200 modules?
Has anyone tried writing up modules for the n5500 yet?
Thanks!

The N5200 modules work on the N5500 - some experience You can read here : www.thecusforum.eu. There might be some issues with the new Ajax Interface using modules with their own config pages or php scripts, but this can be easily solved by changing the check for admin login (some new versions of the modules have the change already in). i.e. see here : forum.thecusforum.eu/showpost.php?p=10028&postcount=4br Peter

Would it be possible to write my own module to have a remote power-off feature for N5500? I mean something that could be done with a simple http request, for example, from a script. Crawling thru menus is difficult to run automatically :-( (wish there were ssh...)

I think mine would have to be the email checker on an account that got almost no email. You would go to the Web page and it would say "You have 0 mail messages." The 0 would change if a message came in, but since that account got no mail, it would never change. I tested it by sending mail to the account, and it worked. But it was absolutely pointless. There were better mail checkers available five years ago, and I didn't have to have Firefox or IE running to use them. When one of my co-workers saw it she said "What's it do?" When I explained, she asked "Why?"

Query is the most awesome javascript library that exists. Every day, I'm finding new ways to leverage it and shorter, more efficient ways to get things done. But, while most things are easy to do, the solution is not always immediately evident. One of the things that took me a good while to figure out was how to gracefully handle AJAX errors.
