I try to keep moderated in my sentences, but I am really disappointed by this product : Initially, it took a long exchange with the support to have the USB detection working : upgrade to a firmware... not referenced (1.00.34) for it to work finally
Some months ago I eventually purchased a 2nd HDD to mount a RAID 1 unit, for more safety on my data.
What safety ? The N299 does not detect any of the 2 HDD's anymore !! Multiple reboots, soft resets, hard resets, changing backup battery gave no result..
I have sent some e-mails to the support in Germany, I have posted on the so-called "support center", and after 2 weeks no-one even sends me an acknowledgement !
To summarize my opinion : the product is lousy and the support is now inexistent, while my N299 should still be under guarantee !
If this situation continue, I will blacklist Thecus, start some procedure, and purchase competition products !
