howdy found a solution to getting my n5200BR (non-Pro) back up. posted my results in my original post; thecususergroup.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=n5200installations&thread=3968&page=1cut a long story short it involved pulling a new n5200BR Pro apart for the PSU. anyway just wanted to say thanks for the hints, tips and help (peterfu). i love my n5200 NAS and thankful that 'Thecus User Group' exists, its been nothing but helpful resource since i bought my unit several years ago. cheers.

I just wanted to add that I had exactly the problem described in the first post (it looked the same as the picture, and flashing from a USB key with factory_test.sh and N5200_N5200PRO_FW_2.00.15.bin from Alex Chang did not work). However, after replacing the power supply, I was able to flash it (with the drives removed) and then reboot with the drives back in to get it working. Unlike aphasia (see previous post), I did not get the power supply from another N5200BR - I just bought a 300W 1U power supply from an online retailer. However, the dimensions of the new power supply were a bit larger than the original, and it had more wires, so I had to cut the extra wires to make it fit.
The problem occurred after a move so it might have been caused by the unit getting knocked around.
