Just got my new thecus and downloaded the latest firmware. I have a RAID5 across 4 disks. Copied all my precious data over from my bloated system drive. About 1 tenth of my mp3s copied. The other 9 tenths - converted into heat I suppose. WTF? Of course I don't find this out until after I deleted my originals. All my other files copied over with no problems. Only a handful of my mp3s had DRM on them - all of those made it BTW. Anyone got an idea about what might have happened? This is got me seriously concerned about the reliability of this RAID controller.

Funny thing, I remembered that I had about 70% of my mp3 collection on my ipod. Not so funny thing, forgot to uncheck "sync music" in itunes. I hate you apple... and Thecus.
Moral of the story - that $50 stack of dual layer dvds is a wise investment.
