I purchased the M3800 to store and play my photos and video files on my HDTV. So far so good. I download video files taken with my DVD camera and they looked good, same for my photos taken with my 5 MB Sony camera.
I recently upgraded my camera to the Canon 5D MKII which can capture both video and stills. Video is recorded at 1080p and stills are captured with a 21 MB sensor The resultant video comes out of the camera up to 40MB/sec and the stills produce files that are 8MB. The resultant picture quality of both matches Blu-ray.
The problem is that I have been unable to play either of these types even though the stills are JPG and the video is AVI. The camera generates an MOV file but I convert it to AVI.
I suspect there is not not enough memory associated with the AMD Geode LX-800 processor to handle these large files. Anyone else have any ideas?
