Is this normal? 4X1.5T Raid 5 write 4mb/s?

Raid 5 with 4 x 1.5TB SAMSUNG HD154UI

stripe size is 1024kb (of course i tried 128kb first)
Ext3 file system

file transfer is 4-5mb/s write and 8-10mb/s read in file of 200MB size.

it is normal status? i bought this nas because it is be written have 35MB/s rate on the homepage.

Hello izcak, did your problem was resolved?

Same problem for me.
4x1.5TB raid10 (4xwd15eads).
2 to 5 Mb/s file transfert and slowly decreasing during transfert!
One day to send 2.5Gb files like jpeg...
web interface is very slow!

1gb ethernet link between computer & nas.
Version Firmware 3.00.05
Same speed on Winxp or vista32
