I want to create specific user-folders for all users of my mac, to have all our data on the NAS. But after creating the folders and setting the rights with the ACL, the folders do not appear in the finder (as well as browsable and public folders I added for testing). What's going wrong?

on the MAC, with the finder window open (the mac's equivalent to windows explorer) press command K choose GO>CONNECT TO SERVER, and fill in the login details or choose guest, add password if needed and connect - wait till connection established and choose which folders to mount (you must have the relevant permissions to access the folders depending on your login details - these are setup using the web interface.) After this, the folders will appear, not under shared/network, but under the devices/computer in the folders list on the LHS side of 'finder' window
