I'm running os x snow leopard 10.6.1, have an n2200 with two wd caviar green 1tb hard drives installed. The N2200 is connected to an apple time capsule via ethernet cable.
When I run the smart utility (v1.00.10), the n2200 is seen. When I select the n2200 and click next, click system installation wizard, and click either one click installation or manually install, I get the following error:
FTP errorError: 553 Error: No such file or directory
(when I click ok I see)
upload udpr fail
The firewall on my mac is off. Thoughts?

Figured it out!
The problem was that the install didn't copy the firmware rom to the directory that the setup wizard was installed to.
1. Run the smart utility wizard installer 2. Copy the "firmware_N2200" file to the same directory that you installed the thecus smart utility to. For os x users, that'd be your applications directory. 3. Plug the n2200 into your router, plug in the power and turn it on 4. Wait a minute or two while the n2200 gets its act together 5. Run the smart utility wizard 6. Select the drive and hit next 7. Select quick setup or manual 7. It's going to hang on this next screen for a long time. After some time you'll see a message with a spinning progress indicator. When you hear a loud sustained tone come from the n2200, you're in business.
I hope this saves someone else a ton of time, good luck!

Don't know how but after several restarts of both Mac and N2200, it works now.
