We're running our new Thecus N4100PRO 4x1TB RAID5 and not impressed with it.
I've just posted a question about the transfer speeds being too slow.
In addition to this I'd like to ask:
Is it right that after tranfering files from another NAS (single drive) device, that the files take up 10% more disk space.
I just moved 266Gb data, which took 32 hours (far far too long) and the disk space it occupied was 292Gb, 30Gb, 10% more - this is not good as we are planning on moving another 2Tb of data and that means a waste of 200Gb of storage space.
Any ideas anyone?
I'm using 64k blocks in my RAID. Most files are MBs in size - we're a graphic arts firm and a lot of large file sizes.
((I have posted this on another forum too, but as I'm not getting any replies to my questions, I'll looking for more serious forum users))

Hello Narrabri.
What about a "Hello", "Hi", "please", "thanks" ? Wouldn't that make your post more "serious" ?
