Looks like Thecus removed the "usbhid" kernel module (actually, they did so) - allow me some time to fix this. /Falk ... they did not ;o) , but the kernel updated caused this ... Updated APCUPSD to 1.04.02 - tests have been successful so far. /Falk A million thanks! ;D

Hello ! Hello! After upgrade to FW 2.01.09 I can't access the MySQL Database on my Thecus N5200. But the MySQL WebUI works fine. Is this a known issue with FW 2.01.09? Best regards, Thorsten when you say the mysql gui works fine, you mean that connects to the database server ok? In a manual of a Qnap NAS I have seen this description: Enable remote connection of MySQL Server You can enable this option to configure the NAS as a database server of another web server in remote site through Internet connection. When you disable this option, your MySQL Server will only be configured as local database server for NAS’s web server. After enabling remote connection, please assign a port for the remote connection service of MySQL server. The default port is 3306. After the first-time installation of the NAS, a folder phpMyAdmin is created in the Qweb network folder. You can enter http://NAS IP/phpMyAdmin/ in the web browser to enter the phpMyAdmin page and manage the MySQL database. So I think at my N5200 with the new FW 2.01.09 the remote connection port 3306 doesn't work! The MySQL-Admin Software has a "ping" button but my n5200 not answer of a ping. Best regards, Thorsten

I don't suppose Thecus updated the version of Busybox in the new firmware?
Cheers

updated my N5200 as well and so far no problems, thought it seems to take a bit longer to access right after boot up.
Does any one know what is this Samba Recycle Bin under advanced options.. dont see it anywhere!

Pulled there new code apart, looks like it has ZFS & XFS now and hard disk health checks.
Still not going to install it, I will stick with my QNAP as master NAS, the N5200 is backup.

You have to set in Your File Explorer that hidden files are displayed. br Peter

Can anyone help document these new options with details re: what it does behind the scenes, what the effects/side effects for the user would be, typical scenarios of when you'd set one value or another? Storage > Advance Option "File Access Cache" "Samba Recycle Bin" "Samba Anonymous Login Authentication" "Samba Transfer to New UID" "Samba is Native Mode" "iSCSI Block size" "iSCSI CRC/Checksum" "Display Host Name On LCM" This kind of info would be helpful as a sticky for the community. Having just upgraded to 2.01.09 (from 2.00.08) and recreated my RAID with XFS I decided to do some testing before copying my data back onto the NAS. For the iSCSI Block Size option - moving from 512B to 4KB increases performance. This is NOT a benign change though, so you do end up losing the contents of the iSCSI target. Do NOT change the iSCSI block size unless you want to lose the contents of your iSCSI targets. To copy 17.3GB (3353 files, 121 folder) from PC (XP SP3) to NAS - largest file is 1.7GB with lots of small files as well (eg. 50KB) SMB - 14:30 mins iSCSI (512B block size) - 20:45 mins iSCSI (4KB block size) - 13:00 mins iSCSI targets were formatted with NTFS with Default Allocation Size - I did try 64KB allocation size but it made almost no difference performance wise other than to waste more space (in my case approx 100MB due to the number of small files) I now have similar write performance for SMB and iSCSI, something which I never had before thecususergroup.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=n5200installations&action=display&thread=2021Hope this helps. Cheers BTW if you use ut_iscsi script (within the UTILS module), you need to modify the script if you want to mount iSCSI targets from within the NAS if you set the iSCSI block size to 4KB. Just change 512 to 4096 in 2 places where it does its calculations and ut_iscsi will then work. Forgot add - to answer my own question, BusyBox is still at v1.1.0 (very old and buggy version - come on Thecus...upgrade it!!!)

I tried to update from FW 2.00.14 to 2.01.09 on N5200 Pro with 1 GB RAM, RAID5 with 3xSamsung HD103UJ (3x1Tb) + JBOD HD103UJ+ST3750330AS (1Tb + 750 GB) After update: - JBOD no more available (disks are OK in Drive Info) - RAID degraded (but the faulty disk is still OK in Drive Info, check is OK with new test drive feature) ...nightmare... After rebuilding the RAID (require about 10h) I downgrade to 2.00.14, recover the config.... Good news all data still there !!! Good luck with 2.01.09, don't forget to backup your data before upgrading...

Previously everything worked fine with both my N5200's on my network.
On my Windows PC's everything still works fine, but after I installed V20109 my Mac doesn't recognize the NAS devices anymore. It doesn't matter whether I activate AFP, Bonjour or whatsoever.
Doesn anyone has this problem as well ? Or more important ... has anyone a solution ?
BTW I am definitely not a Mac expert....

I have no problem with my MaxBook Air. NAS and all shares are available and everything is working . I made the network connection via SMB, Bonjour and iTunes server is running, AFP not.
