Drewey, I also replied to your other post. Yes, I'm interested. Can you make an openldap module with gettext and ldap extensions in PHP so phpldapadmin can be used to administer it? Thanks again

Yes, very interested too, thank you.
An OpenLDAP module would really make this fly (hint).

The alpha is on it's way, just got to get the install working properly. Hopefully I'll get this out this week.
In the meantime anyone that's interested in it is going to need to install the mysql module & the Thecus webserver module upfront.

I'm working on a module that will install egroupware (with a dummy database), setup the mysql users, install the additional pear libs etc.
I'm been away on vacation for a week and never got it finished before I left. I should get this finished this weekend.....
But this is a "alpha", I haven't managed to get the egroupware mail client working as yet. I think this is because the thecus php installation is not complied with the imap extensions, so I'm going to have to build a replacement php environment. This bit will take a while longer.

OK this thread has got my attention!
Let me begin by saying I'm a 5200Pro newbie and have no Linux experience ...There I've confessed!
I currently run a Windows XP PC that I use some software (http://www.softalkltd.com/products/workgroupshare/ ) o allow shared contacts and calendar that my wife and I both access from our Outlook clients. It syncs to both Outlooks thus allowing us to both enter appintments/contacts and for the other laptop to pick them up.
I have moved all my storage off the XP PC onto my 5200Pro so nowthe PC is only running for our shared outlook stuff.
So the question.... will this eGroupware software on the 5200 allow us to have a shared calendar and shared contacts and thus allow me to shut down the PC running just for this?
I see that the eGroupware will allow web access to the data, but I'm more interested in syncing the shared data to the two outlook clients.
And then the next question.... how hard is it to install setup n the 5200... I have plenty of computing background but not in the Linux/unix world.
Thanks Richard

Richard,
It should prove fairly straightforward to install. However it's not going to sync contacts and shared calendars to outlook, web only I'm afraid.
There are various "connectors" around for opensource groupware products to connect to outlook but usually these aren't free.

Hi,
I just installed the eGroupware module this weekend, and it was working fine in my LAN until I restarted the box. Now I can't seem to restart the webserver. When I click "Start" it says that it started, but when it returns to the webserver config page, it still says Stopped.
I Tested the configuration and it is all right.
I would reinstall the webserver module, but I'm afraid I might have to reinstall egroupware right afterwards - and I'm afraid I'll loose the changes I already made.
Any help would be appreciated...

mythic,
you could stop the mysql mod, cold copy the db files, start mysql, remove the egroupware mod, remove the webserver mod. Replace the webserver mod, replace the egroupware mod. Stop mysql, replace the copied db files, start mysql....
but it's probably better to try and work out why the webserver mod isn't working. Do you have console access to the nas?
