...would be nice, so that Vista can see the boxes in its "Network Map."
There's a non-free version for Linux available from Microsoft...anyone tried it?
Surprised that this isn't in Samba...
Cheers,
Alph

Can you send me a WinXP executable in order to test it?
I'm not able to download the Windows Driver Kit (WDK) which includes a client program....

Not quite sure what you mean here Andreas? Do you mean you don't have a WinXP computer? Turns out, all you need is to download the 'Rally-LLTD-PortingKit.exe' from the address dcushing sent, compile the native-linux version up (I used CENTOS 5.1) with -static included in the Makefile's CFLAGS and LDFLAGS, transfer it to the thecus and go... ./lld2d -d -t3f eth0
I was impressed...it works and it appears happily on my vista box's network map. I actually looks for /etc/icon.ico to give a customized icon (otherwise it looks like a LinkSys router, it seems)...this would have to be put in place through a proper module if one were to 'productize' the thing... The "go to management URL" facility works fine, as far as I can see... Cheers, Alph

How easy is this to do for us non-linux users? I don't have a linux box to do any compiling on. Is there a way someone can make mod file or something that can be installed by the average user?
