hi,
sometimes i´ve got a problem with "incompatible data" - twonkyforum said: please update to 4.4.9 - could someone (marty) give us a new, freshly updated module?
thanks in advance!

I am also after an updated Twonky Media module.
Also is there any information on how could I go about making an updated module myself?
thanks

I have created an updated Twonky Media module v4.4.11 and am just testing it now. I also created a 5.0.55 version from the latest code but there are bugs in it, notably that it does not play .m2ts files on the PS3. This is simply a regression and should be fixed soon. Oh if only Sony updated the PS3 to play .mkv files, I wouldn't need to re-mux to .m2ts I could create a 5.0.46 module which, from what I have read, does not have that particular PS3 bug if anyone really wants to test v5, but I personally will be waiting for a newer version to install on my box. Twonky v5 has a completely revamped view system, which can be controlled from an XML file, but this means that the web interface for defining trees/views is very simplified (which some people do not like). I will stay on top of the new versions and can create updated modules. There is a lot more info on what is new at the official Twonky forum. I also found an official Thecus forum on my travels that I was not aware of! I do have one question though, as I have not purchased a licence yet. Is it simply a case of entering the licence via the web interface which activates the server? Does Twonky need to call home and if so, is this possible from the N3200 or will I need to configure anything else? cheers, andy

GREAT!! I´m very interested! is there a chance to download these module(s)?

with the old 4.4.3.1 version, i just entered my purchased licence-key and all went fine... do you know, if i can use this key with the new 5.0 version?
what do you mean with "call home"? "home-directory" of media?
it was very easy to configure twonky with my ps3 - and i hope sony will update the ps3 to play mkv, too! ;-)

I have updated the Wiki page with details of the new version ;D Check out the new TwonkyMedia v4.4.11 module. I also added a new page for the TwonkyMedia revision history. I would have uploaded the file to the actual Wiki, rather than putting it on savefile.com but uploads are disabled I have tested this on my N3200 (firmware 1.00.04) with no problems. I un-installed the old version first, so Twonky needed to rebuild its database when I enabled the new version. It may be possible to simply install over the top of the old version but you would need SSH access to do so, unless you want 2 versions listed on the modules page. Please let me know if you have any problems. with the old 4.4.3.1 version, i just entered my purchased licence-key and all went fine... do you know, if i can use this key with the new 5.0 version? From what I have read, you need to upgrade your key or worst case buy a new one! Understandably, this has not gone down too well over on the official Twonky forum. what do you mean with "call home"? "home-directory" of media? Sorry, my bad terminology there, I meant does the Twonky server need to contact Twonky's licence server to register the key. cheers, andy

Andy you're a genius!
Many thanks for your work on this - the module is working perfectly on my n3200 and I no longer get DNLA errors when streaming music to my PS3 - oh and I now have Album art too.
Cheers,
Andy

I uninstalled my twonky server and tried to install the latest version but get this message.
Install module failed since Nas type or version not match.
Anyone know why. Firmware is 1.00.03.
Is it a firmware issue or has anyone else had this problem.

Is it a firmware issue or has anyone else had this problem. If it's the module I built, I probably set the version to Firmware 1.00.04 since that is what I am running. You can easily edit the install.rdf file if you want to install on an older version. But I cannot test on earlier firmwares so cannot guarantee that it will work. The .mod file is simply a gzipped tar file, so if you use Windows, rename it to .tgz and open the file with WinZip or WinRar, edit the file and save it over the top.

Hi, i need a big help <snip> Are you still having problems? You can install ROOTPSW to reset the root password and then you can ssh to the NAS box again. It sounds like you might need to do that to perform a manual clean up. The uninstall script is inside the TwonkyMedia .mod archive. It sounds like you know some Linux so you should be fine running the commands manually. It is not a complicated uninstall. Let me know if you need more help.

I have built a new module with TwonkyMedia 4.4.18. It definitely works on firmware 1.00.04 There seems to be a new wiki that is slowly (or has it stopped already?) replacing the onbeat.dk site. Also it would seem savefile are undergoing maintenance so my old module is no longer available. This is a bit annoying since I had to build this new one based on the first version again, so all the changes I made to the package are lost. Not a big problem, it just took me a little longer to build everything. The new version is available at the Thecus N3200 Module: TWONKYMEDIA page on the new wiki. I also ported the revision history page to the new wiki - see TwonkyMedia Revision History. Working OK on my box but the database is still re-building. I'll reply if there are any problems.
