just got the N3200 and put 3 750gb drives in it. I get to the web admin just fine, everytime I configure 3 disk RAID 5 it builds about 1-2% and just hangs.... http stops responding and all. I tried 2 drive RAID 0... no problem. But have used web interface, pc application... all same result with RAID 5, not rocket science here... seems like a flakey design/ or unit
just hangs and never gets past a few percent of building array?? Not happy with this thing at all!!
Any suggestions?

What brand drives? I used 3 x Samsung 500Gb SATA II HDDs. The MAC application would only let me setup RAID JBOD/0/1 and not 5. So created a RAID1 array, logged into the web interface, deleted it and recreated a RAID5 array no problems. Just took ages to build an empty array.

Seagate SATA II drives.... I tried even RAID 1 with (2) drives and same problem, RAID 0 worked on 2 drives I then deleted and tried RAID 5 with (3) drives again.... as you said it builds SLOOOWWW as anything and then the web interface and pc interface doesn't repond.... I have tried letting it run overnight 2 times and it still only makes it to a couple of % tops, then locks up.
I have to keep pulling the power cable since the power button doesn't respond.... and I even have to switch the drives around or else it just stays stuck in "booting..." with the web/pc interface again not working.
This is very annoying, I can't even build a simple RAID set.

Without running some tests myself I would suggest that one of your three disks is faulty.

I have tried the drives standalone, no problems, RAID 0 no problems.... RAID 1, RAID 5, for get it... I would say this piece of %$#$ is faulty, not the drives. Going to try to get a RMA, since techsupport from Thecus won' even respond to my problems tickets

I've just put 3 750G drives in mine too, and it's a dog. Doesn't even see the rives often, but when it does it stalls before it finishes forming the raid and doesn't reboot properly.
The worst bit is that the disks are constantly making a clunking noise like the heads are being parked and started up again.
It's a dud.

I put in 3 x 500GB Samsung disks, and for now it is working. Have allready copy 300GB of data to the drive. Lets see how long its stable.

I had kinda the same problem to start with... Whether this is a HD or SW problem I'm not sure. When I first tried to create a raid5 array the n3200 got to about 10% and then died. However I noticed that when I tried the Raid1 it worked perfectly. I then created a raid1 array over all three disks (pointless, except for testing) which worked??? After that I was able to create the raid5 array with no probs at all. This leads me to believe the issue is with the firmware or the disks have to be formatted in whatever format the n3200 uses (haven't bothered to research ). I'm using 3 750GB Seagate Barracuda HDD's. Hope this helps other disappointed users. KM

I take it all back. I haven't been able to copy large amount of data without the N3200 dropping out. Raid5 is constantly rebuilding! Contacted Thecus who issued an RMA. Hopefully the next one will work!

Well... Months later after having my n3200 replaced, everything is working fine.
If you can't build a raid5 array, send that sh+t back.
