Hi,
under Windows you can use TUGzip to open/unpack the *.bin files and to pack these after modifications again.
Greetings

Hello, the *.bin files are most likely tar.gz files in reality. At least I presume it. install a linux on a pc copy firmware to it. code: mv fw.bin fw.tar.gz tar zxvf fw.tar.gz Give us the output of file fw.bin if this does not work. You should find some older firmware at onbeat.dk/thecus/BR

it is possible to unpack the firmware, but you have to decrypt the file first. It is just a tar.gz file, but it is encrypted. Once decrypted, it unpack just fine.
you will need the "des" program, on the n5200 is is located in "/usr/bin"
/usr/bin/des -k 2006N5200 -D <firmware file name> newname.tar.gz

or just run:
openssl enc -d -des -in <firmware file name> -out update.tar.gz -K eca8857367a10275 -iv 0 -nosalt -nopad
