I found a workaround for all those annoying things including "remote plugins" bug. First thing you have to do is just update your java version. I posted an updated version on the offical thecus forum. Dont update azsmrc server plugin to 1.0 if you do that you cant connect to it using azsmrc offcourse you can undo that by using SSH and go to "raid/data/module/AZUR/system/bin/azureus/plugins/" and delete the zip and jar file of 1.0. offcourse before you do that you have to disable AZUR module then after those changes renable the module. If you have updated everything ( azureus 4.2.0.8 and azsmrc server plugin version 0.9.9) try to grab the latest *.jar file of azureus, and put it on your nas. You also should have an older version of azureus like version 3 or something. I got version 3.1.1.0. Put also the older one on your NAS both should be in " raid/data/module/AZUR/system/bin/azureus/" Remember wich one is the older and the newer one by naming them Azureus-<version>.jar. Now you have should have the latest Azureus + the old one and the one already present (4.2.0.8 thats the one called Azureus2.jar). If you want to configure your remote plugins change the name of the older one to Azureus2.jar and the renable AZUR module and connect to the server using Azsmrc remote plugin. If you have done that disable AZUR module and change the name of the older version of azureus to Azureus-<version>.jar and now do that with the latest module <Azureus-<newerversion>.jar to Azureus2.jar, and renable the AZUR module. Older Azureus versions ...i dont think it matters if its for windows or linux as long as you have the Azureus2.jar file. www.oldapps.com/azureus.phpOfficial Thecus Forum Thread: www.thecusforum.eu/showthread.php?t=2692if you have any questions please ask. You could also add new plugins read the post on the official forum.

Drewy Could you maybe put the "Azureus2.jar" file of the old AZUR.mod on your site so i can download and test abit with it that is version 3.5 of azureus. usually i could extract the *.mod but this time whatever i do it doesnt work.
edit: Nevermind i figured it out XD, The old module is version 3.0.5 not 3.5. So the best way is just to download from my previous post.

good work shinger. To be honest I'd noticed the link to the "Official" forum had been dropped from Thecus's website, so I'd thought it had gone Do you fancy building a new mod, using your current configuration?

Well im not sure how to do that, i tried to use hello world mod but cant download the mod. I was thinking about using a new torrent module. Using Deluge. deluge-torrent.org/It also has a webbased plugin.

So drewy if i copy my own folder with Java 5 update 22 and all except .azureus (hidden) directory in azureus directory. That would do it? I mean i use the latest Firmware and everything works except the remote plugin bug. But you can use the work around till its fixed.
edit: I do have added 2 more plugins (ono, status mailer)

yeah just tar and then zip up the entire directory. Then rename to azur.mod Probably best to rename you installed directory and then try installing it, although it may not work 'cause the database will already show it as installed. Worth a try anyway. I can't test it myself since the v3 firmware won't play nicely with my disks

Wow thanks for the info guys!
It is a shame that you have to do this workaround, but I really appreciate the tips!
PS - I am much more comfortable using sFTP (Windows lad through and through - sorry!) - this will still let me copy the same files as SSH, right?

It will let you copy the same files but you can ONLY acces the directory's you made through the webinterface of the nas. You would still have to copy from there to the AZUR/system/bin/ directory. Im also having problems with the heap space error stuff. Im trying to expand the memory java should use but don know why it doesnt apply it. hausheer.osola.com/docs/5

Well ive done somethings but the latest Azureus (vuze) version is giving me a hard time dealing with java heap memory c.r.a.p. So i dont think its wise to make a module of it with the settings ive got.

Yeah my early azureus on the original mod is currently working so well I'm reluctant to do anything to it at all!
Are there security / encryption issues I should be worried about with the early version?

Thanks Reek www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.htmlDownload putty if you use linux just download it from the pakketmanager. type above the ip of your NAS in, and select SSH with port 22 and tell it to open. Belated thanks Shinger. I do use Putty now and its an awesome way to get in... ;D

Using Deluge. deluge-torrent.org/It also has a webbased plugin. Which package do I use for this module? What do I have to do to format it for the Thecus unit? Just rename the file deluge.mod ? I need something with a proxy server setting option so that is why I am looking at this one.

I've been having a problem with heap space in Azureus. Im using Azureus 4.3.0.6a/0.7.6. I need some one to tell me how to increase the heap space. I dont know where to put the commands I find on this site and others to increase the max size. Also it says class type after setting up the max size ...what does the class type mean? As you can tell I am a noob at this so instructions should be very precise.. I am using Putty to ssh into the THecus if that helps.
Thanks

reekinhavoc, Couldn't reply to your email, your mail server doesn't like mine I'm not sure if this will work, you'll have to give it a whirl a see. You (probably) need to modify the azureus startup script. If your running a windows client I'd recommend you go and grab yourself a copy of winscp. Connect this to you thecus (or use putty if your feeling brave) and find the file /raid/data/module/AZUR/Shell/module.rc You need to edit this file, if your using winscp right click edit, if putty then use vi or something. line 31 in this file looks like: /raid/data/module/AZUR/system/bin/jre/bin/java -jar /raid/data/module/AZUR/system/bin/azureus/Azureus2.jar --ui=console >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null & you need to add a parameter to this to modify the java vm heap size. From wiki.vuze.com/w/Commandline_options#Options_passed_to_the_Virtual_Machine it looks like this parm maybe -Xmx<nnn>m where nnn is the size in megabytes. So if you wanted to set 256MB line 31 would become: /raid/data/module/AZUR/system/bin/jre/bin/java -jar -Xmx256m /raid/data/module/AZUR/system/bin/azureus/Azureus2.jar --ui=console >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null & Some of the text on the wiki above says that linux parms are prefixed with -D, so if the above don't work try -DXmx<nnn>m If you want to try this without saving the module.rc file just paste the command into putty and execute it (make sure you have disabled the azur module first). If it does startup ok you'll have to shut it down by killing it using: killall -SIGHUP java best of luck.
