1) Please update to the version of IET (iSCSI Enterprise Target) from 0.4.12 to 0.4.15 (or later depending on when you get to it.
It's a relatively trivial update to make and it will improve the 5200 Pro's ability to work with VMWare ESX because it includes the iSCSI reserve / release feature. (And if you can provide a cheap solution for people who need a test bench for ESX, you're likely to sell a few thousand extra units in the US alone.)
2) Provide advanced iSCSI configuration from the GUI (blockio/fileio, max connections, IntialR2T, etc. or create profiles for common uses of iSCSI (Windows iSCSI Initiator, Linux, VMWare ESX, etc.) Also a relatively thing to implement.
3) Logging for troubleshooting
I'm willing to help test these features and help them get implemented if you need it.

Hi Culbeda, Add me to your list of people requesting this update. I am looking to buy a 5200 Pro and am awaiting this very feature to justify the cost. If Thecus include this I will definitly buy one. ;D I also know of another person that has a 5200 pro and he too would like this feature for testing esx as he is a VCP and runs lots of labs on a single box. I am running a test lab for ESX 3.5 and wish to test VMotion etc. without this feature there is no way to make sure it will work properly If it's not implemented soon I will probably purchase another PC with a raid card and use Falconstor or some other ISCSI taget software instead. Here's hoping.

Consider opening a ticket with Thecus Support: esupport.thecus.com/support/This is a Community Forum and there is no guarantee Thecus will read all posts ;o) The ticket will ensure at least that the support team knows about this - they will probably forward this to R&D to get this fixed/implemented with an upcoming FW release. Regards, Falk

No reply from Thecus looks like some of the posts in the forums may be warranted after all. I think I will just get a PC to do the same thing. Good luck with this in the future. Cheers
