Hi All,
I have been having problems with my Thecus n5200 Pro under Microsoft Active Directory. After a map the Thecus connecting as the domain administrator it works for a while, then the device is no longer available. I have tried all sorts of ways but Actve Directory still does not seem to be working well using either the security groups or domain users.
Is the Thecus perhaps unable to work with Active DIrectory?
Thanks for your support

I've also been experiencing problems with AD integration. Firstly, I could see only AD users and not groups so I upgraded the firmware. Now, after upgrading the firmware I can see all AD users and groups but although I have set my ACL lists shared folders cannot be accessed unless they are public. Is anyone else having this problem? Secondly, the box constantly drops off the network and can’t be accessed until I reboot.
Any ideas?

I do experience the same kind of problems. Even if the active directory user list is ok, the 5200 sometimes refuses the logon.
The funny thing is, I declared all folders public, and I still have the same problem.
If it happens i ask the user to close and reopen its windows session, and than he can access it.
I will now remove AD directory completely to find out if it still happens.
By the way I don't use network discs, because if there are more then 5 network drives it slows down somehow. I only use "my network places".

Mine broke totally after adding then removing from AD. I had hoped it would be possible to set permissions on subfolders beneath a share ala windows but it didnt work. When I removed the thecus from AD I could not access any shares at all, always being prompted for a username/password despite the shares being public. I had to ssh into the box & chmod 777 all the shared directories to be able to access them again. Fortuantly for home use this is fine. I last worked with samba 3 years ago & must admit I had hoped AD integration would have improved in this time but it seems not
