Not enough information here to discriminate amongst the possible sources of this situation.
I am not considering here that you haven't ticked the "reconnect at logon" box in the map-network-drive menu, right?
My 1st step would be to check that you are using the same login and password to login into your PC/Windows and the mapping of your networked drive.
In other words, have you created a user in your N3200 who has the same name and password as the one you use in your PC/Windows?
Patrice
PS: note that I have faced a quite strange limitation using this: you cannot map several drives with each different name and passwords -I think I have a limit of 2 for my XP machines. Not sure this is a Windows limitations or me not using the right menu.

Thanks Patrice.
I did have selected "reconnect at login".
I tried to use the same username and password on both my PC and N3200, but the problem persists.
Not sure if this is a problem with my wireless router which is a Buffalo AirStation I bought several years ago.
Buffalo AirStation: 192.168.11.1 N3200 setting IP:192.168.11.21 (static) gateway: 192.168.11.1 domain name: thecus.com
Anyway, I'll turn to support for local distributor on Monday. Thanks.

Just to ensure I was clear enough: I was mentionning the same user name and password for the shared folders, not the one for accessing the N3200 as an admin.
[added note: you cannot logon to your NAS with a different name from the one you have used for an already mapped drive, at least in Windows. If you have never been able to map a networked drive, have go with the "net use" in a command window, it's richer in terms of error message.]
You may have a problem with your wireless router but that would not explain why it would request again and again your details. If this is just a time-out issue, by simply going in My Computer and double clicking on the networked drive, you would have the connection re-established.
As you seem quite determined to go and see the supplier, I won't insist but in a last attempt, can you confirm you have set up your Explorer to re-discover your network automatically: in an Explorer window, is 'Automatically search for network folders and printers' checked in the Tools>Folder Options>View tab>Advanced menu?
Just for my peace of mind ;D!

Are you sure that you have the exact same user and password? In this case both, user and password, are case sensitive! Chack that better again, I dont had ever any problems like this, not with the n3200 or the n2100.

thanks all, the issue was resolved. the root cause is the personal firewall in my PC. After enabling sharing, everything works correctly. i think i need to go through the firewall settings again to ensure it's ok.
